That’s my King! (S M Lockridge) – free video

By Mark Barnes

If you’re not already familiar with S M Lockridge’s My King – then you should be! He simply speaks for seven minutes about Jesus Christ, but it’s impossible not to listen without responding in heartfelt praise.

Last summer I put together a video: a combination of Lockeridge’s words, with some images that I hope will add to the power of his message. I’ve been encouraged to share the video – so have uploaded it here. If you’re looking for a video to inspire you in your Christian faith, or a video to show before the sermon in a Sunday service in church, or just something to remind you how God is worthy of our praise, then this might be just the thing.

Just click the play button if you can see it below (there are higher quality versions further down the page). It might take up to 20 seconds to buffer before anything actually starts to play.

A variety of formats are available depending on how patient you are downloading! Files are now available in Quicktime format for Mac users, and in various formats for portable devices (if in doubt, try the iPod video format). As requested in the comments, I’ve now made files easier to download, just click on the links below:

Buy the DVD

  • It’s now possible to buy the DVD of this video from Lulu for around $10+shipping. Please note that you don’t get anything extra that you can’t download from this site for free (except for a nice plastic DVD case!). The option is there just for people who can’t create their own DVDs.

Please note

Please note that there are about eight seconds of blank video at the beginning and end. If you’re showing the video to a large group, it helps you make sure everything is ready before it actually starts!

Due to popular demand, I’ve added a file that will create a DVD for you (if you have a DVD writer in your computer). If you have a copy of Nero or Roxio, you should be able to just double-click on the downloaded file and follow the prompts. If you don’t have a program that already handles .ISO files, you can download MagicISO for free, then follow these instructions (scroll down to number 7).

A note about copyright: I’ve tried to establish the copyright status of the audio, but have been unable to trace the original copyright holder. Bearing that in mind, I am happy for anyone to freely distribute the video itself, though you may not make a charge for it. I will of course honour the original copyright holder’s wishes should they contact me.

  • [..YouTube..] Shadrach Meshach Lockridge spoke these words without notes. Words are not adequate to describe Yeshua. But these are a good start. What are great time to be alive!

Although I have been cynical, sometimes jokingly, about the randomness or otherwise of Mark’s books, I have in fact taken the trouble to look at a few of them and have previously even read some of them. ‘Who Moved the Stone’ was one. (Can it really be 50 years ago?). If they are truly random perhaps Mark should get out a bit more! Maybe ‘Belle du Jour’ and ‘Torment for Trixy’( the latter is the same era as Biggles and I remember reading both!) are kept under the bed!

The Ante-Nicene Fathers vol IV and similar blockbusters are never going to quite hit the spot.

Has anyone actually read Volumes I,II,and III and if so why? (Judging from his latest literary ditty, perhaps Dr Bob ought to!)

Others in the collection look very interesting, though there does seem a rather unhealthy and worrying preoccupation with war! (And I don’t mean the Biggles books.) I note not a single volume of poetry. I find this very sad. Not even The War Poets. Not even Wilfred Owen.

Recently, an acquaintance of mine, Justin Meggitt has been invited to membership of the ‘Jesus Project’- worth checking out. On the same team along with some 30 others is Solomon Schimmel who has written a most interesting book called:-

‘The Tenacity of Unreasonable belief: Fundamentalism and the fear of Truth.’

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has read it.

Arleigh seems to make the mistake of thinking light-heartedness is synonymous with insincerity or frivolity. It is not.

In all my contributions I have tried to raise serious issues, because the truth matters.

  • [..YouTube..] YESSS!!! a billion stars!!!!!!
