Preparing a sermon with Logos
A number of people asked to see the process involved in preparing a sermon. This series of videos attempts to do just that. The videos work best in fullscreen mode. Just press play, then click the icon with four small arrows, next to the Vimeo logo.

Thank’s for the Lesson. Excellent.
thanks so much. These videos were very helpful. I have taught SS for 20 years and recently decided to begin seminary to try to be a better SS teacher. Your videos, esp on notes and the initial phase of Bible study were particularly helpful.
Thanks Mark,
I would find it very helpful to see how you operate and what you have settled on as the most useful SEARCH commands. I like the “NEAR” command. Precision in searching is so important in Logos because of the vast size of the data. What other commands are your “go to” tools and under what circumstances would you reach for them. [Perhaps the subject of yet another video?] I have been wanting to write this to you for a few weeks – just finally got around to it
Mark,
Thanks so much for producing the tremendously helpful videos. My use of Logos-4 will be much more efficient because of the tips I have learned while looking over your shoulder!
Grace to you,
R
Mark,
These videos are excellent! I am amazed at how clearly you present what you do and show how to do it in Logos.
One question: in video #3 you have a couple of Commentary collections (Academic, Intermediate, Expository, Unclassified). Did you create them with a dynamic collection somehow? Or did you do that manually? In any event, could you possibly share your list of which commentaries are in which collection(s)?
Thanks!
Great videos! I just wanted to know on video #2 how did you set up the layouts for your note-taking. I tried to get the same layout but was unsuccessful.
Mark,
I can’t thank you enough for these videos! I was feeling a bit over my head with Logos. I am to preach my first sermon ever in a week and a half and I now feel like I’ll be prepared.
Thanks so much!
Your brother and servant in Christ,
Bill
